Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience providing therapy to a range of clients. The first half of my career has been focused on community mental health care in my hometown, Baltimore, Maryland. In this sector, I developed a strong clinical foundation while working with diverse populations and diagnoses in a large outpatient setting. The second half of my career has been centered around providing telehealth services. I worked with an organization that particularly focused on providing culturally sensitive care to minorities and People of Color (POC). Since transitioning into private practice three years ago, I have expanded my services to include a specialty in spiritual counseling, integrating clients’ spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process and treatment interventions. This work has also inspired me to create a YouTube channel dedicated to supporting Christians who are experiencing chronic anxiety. Now that the Eastern Shore has become my home, I am partnering with Chester River Behavioral Health to offer in-person services again and give back to this community.
Philosophy of Care
I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and empower you to make meaningful, lasting change. I appreciate being able to help people that they are more capable than they originally thought. I view therapy as a deeply personal process, shaped by each person’s unique experiences and needs. My approach centers on providing sensitive care that is thoughtfully tailored to your circumstances, goals, and what matters most to you, so you walk away with alignment. Because of this approach, I utilize an eclectic style, which entails tailoring evidence-based interventions to your specific needs. Building a strong therapeutic relationship and alliance will serve as the foundation for our work together. When you work with me, you can expect a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental collaboration, where you are just as much a part of exploring and determining what’s best for you. Be proud of yourself for what you are doing or trying to do. Taking the first steps to seek help is not easy. It would be a privilege for me to be a part of your mental health journey. I hope whatever time we have together has an impact and moves you closer to where you want to be.
